Tenerife Nightlife - Casino

The nightlife in Tenerife has always been a significant part of the culture there, known as a party holiday destination, and thus the range of activities is wide.

Music, as always within Spanish culture, has a significant role and therefore the streets are crowded with bars and clubs offering live music such as Blanco Pub (c/Blanco), Sheriff (c/Blanco) and La Gruta (c/Hoya), each of which are guaranteed to be full every night with a fixed timetable of entertainment. However, it is not limited to this by any means and the streets are lined with more varied performers.

Clubbing is also a significant part of life on this island, and as is common in Spain, the party carries on until the early hours. It is important to note also that it is not just limited to the young, as everyone can enjoy the varied bars, some dating back to the seventies, demonstrating the traditional atmosphere of the island as very much in tune with a dancing culture, eager for all to enjoy. Good places to visit include Victoria, Avenida de Colón and Joy.

The combination of the two above can be seen in the traditional salsa nights that are popular both here and in mainland Spain. Most importantly for many tourists, they are often offered free in many of these clubs, allowing a true taste of Hispanic culture.

Festivals are celebrated with regularity on this island, and include examples such as one of Jazz in July, a Cinematic festival on the beach in August, Street Theatre in March and one of story telling in January, meaning an altogether jam packed schedule.

Finally, there are a plethora of restaurants to be experienced, many of which transform into bars and dancing arenas late on in the night. The Café de Paris (Avenida de Colónilla) is definitely worth a visit and is renowned throughout the island as a traditional place to go, whilst the most chic place to visit is definitely El Coto at the Hotel Botánico.

Give it a go!
