Puerto de la Cruz Archeological Museum
Although the museum has not existed for very long (1953-1958), the archeological center is a site that must be mentioned because it has greatly contributed to education of the general public as to the rich archeological heritage of their area. The museum occupies an artistic historic building, unique to traditional Canary Island architecture from the XVIII-XIX centuries. More than 2,600 pieces make up their diverse collection, namely their permanent exhibition of clay pottery, giving us a glimpse into the guanche culture. The Gaunches, now an extinct population, were and the first known inhabitants of the Canary Islands.
Everyday from 10:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 21:00.
Location: Puerto de la Cruz
